North Slope study targeted for late-year completion

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Exploration Geosciences Ltd., an international petroleum exploration consulting firm based in the United Kingdom, said in May that completion of its study of the basin area of the North Slope from the Chukchi Sea to the Canadian border is scheduled for completion in late summer.

The database assembled for the study includes more than 315 wells and selected propriety seismic lines owned by Western Geophysical Co.

The company said that more than 90 percent of the technical work for the study is expected to be completed by early July. An evaluation of raw data is complete and maps are in drafting. The final products (an atlas and two reports) will be available in November 1999 in hard copy and digital (GIS) format.
