Icewine well surface casing set

Accumulate Energy Alaska Inc. has completed the surface hole at the Icewine No. 2 well.

The local subsidiary of the Australian independent 88 Energy Inc. reached a depth of 2,978 feet on the onshore North Slope well on the night of April 27. The company cemented the surface casing and completed a test of its blowout preventer. The company is currently drilling the intermediate section of the well, between 3,000 and 10,710 feet.

The Icewine No. 2 well is located in the Franklin Bluffs region of the central North Slope, south of the Prudhoe Bay unit, along the trans-Alaska oil pipeline corridor.
