Hilcorp permitting at Deep Creek

Hilcorp Alaska LLC is building a road and pad at the Deep Creek unit.

The local subsidiary of the Texas based independent is permitting a 2.29-mile gravel road and a 2.75-acre gravel pad at the onshore Cook Inlet unit with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District. The road and pad would support a two-well exploration program. The road requires federal approval. The pad, to be located upland, does not.

If successful, the program would either lead to additional exploration drilling or to a commercial development with an associated pipeline to connect to existing facilities.

The pad would be located on ADL 389255, in the southern half of the unit. The majority of exploration and development drilling to date has been in the northern end of the unit.

The filing appears to be the Happy Valley C pad Hilcorp previously permitted with state officials. Earlier permitting documents described a potential four-well drilling pad.
