B.C. offshore reserves ‘ideal’ for U.S.

Rick Thorpe, British Columbia’s minister of competition, science and technology, said any oil and natural gas produced from the province’s offshore would be suited for export to the United States. He conceded there are many obstacles to overcome before exploration and development of the resources can take place. But “our strategic location is ideal for our good friends in the United States,” he said after attending an energy conference in Houston.
