State lease transactions for January

Great Bear Petroleum Ventures II LLC conducted various lease transactions in January, according to the most recent lease report from the Alaska Division of Oil and Gas.

First, the company received six leases acquired during a November 2013 North Slope areawide lease sale. Second, the company transferred 100 percent working interest and 87.5 percent royalty interest in two leases - ADL 391668 and ADL 391651 - to Ursa Major Holdings LLC. Third, the company forfeited two leases - ADL 392598 and ADL 392600 - which the company also acquired in the November 2013 lease sale.

Also in January, Murphy Exploration (Alaska) Inc. transferred a small working and royalty interest in two leases to Hilcorp Alaska LLC. The first - ADL 47527 - is in the eastern North Slope between the Liberty and Badami units and is home to the ARCO W. Mikelsen No. 1 well. The second - ADL 312799 - is in the Northstar unit.

In Cook Inlet, Buccaneer Energy Ltd. transferred 100 percent working interest and 76.5 percent royalty interest in ADL 391094 at the Kenai Loop gas field to AIX Energy LLC, which acquired the company’s assets in a bankruptcy auction in October 2014.

Also, the James N. Farr Estate transferred a small royalty interest in two Redoubt unit leases - ADL 374002 and ADL 378114 - to the James N. Farr Trust U/A 04/12/1999.
