Preview of state’s spring online lease sales now live on EnergyNet

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas is holding the state’s spring oil and gas lease sales - for the Alaska Peninsula and Cook Inlet - online through EnergyNet (see story in April 19 issue).

The division’s Marta Mueller told Petroleum News in an April 20 email that the sale preview has gone live on the EnergyNet website April. Sale information is available at www.energynet.com/govt_listing.pl.

The division updated its regulations last year, with a provision allowing for online bidding one of the updates.

With social distancing requirements and prohibitions of meetings of more than 10 people in place due to COVID-19, the division was already positioned for online bidding.

The first day to submit bids with EnergyNet for the sales will be May 19, with the deadline to submit bids June 11 at 4 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time.

Bidding results will be available to the public on the division’s website at 9 a.m. June 17.
