Forest sees production from Lost Ark in Gulf of Mexico

Petroleum News Alaska

Forest Oil Corp. said July 9 that it has initial production from the Lost Ark field in the Gulf of Mexico. The East Breaks 421 No. 1 well, operated by Noble Energy, is producing 32 million cubic feet a day of natural gas and is expected to increase this rate within the next several weeks. Forest owns a 50 percent working interest in the Lost Ark field, which is in 2,700 feet of water.

Forest said this is its second internally generated deepwater prospect it has on production. The first was East Breaks 164.

Forest said it has four additional deepwater prospects under evaluation.
