CORRECTION
Contrary to a report in the Oct. 17 issue of Petroleum News, Anadarko Petroleum has obtained the necessary industrial permit to clear the site for its Bear Head liquefied natural gas project in Nova Scotia. An official groundbreaking is scheduled for Oct. 28. It is still awaiting an approval from the Canadian Department of Transport under the Navigable Waters Protection Act and will eventually need National Energy Board permission to import LNG. Bear Head is expected to start operations in 2007.
