PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: Three new executives at Ukpeagvik

Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., the Native corporation for Barrow, Alaska, has hired three new executives, John Dittrich, James Stotts and Cindy Thomas. The company announced the arrival of the trio on Jan. 27.

Dittrich is the new chief financial officer for Ukpeagvik. He will supervise vice presidents of finance in each of the corporation’s four business lines. Dittrick was formerly vice president of finance for ASRC Energy Services, and has 16 years of professional finance experience.

James Stotts is the new vice president of government services, coming from 13 years at Arctic Slope Regional Corp., where he most recently held the post of vice president of operations. Stotts is a leader in the Inupiat community and a shareholder in UIC. He will oversee marketing, compliance and security, economic development, government relations and shareholder development.

UIC’s new corporate attorney is Cindy Thomas. She will be responsible for general legal affairs and advising management on legal issues. She worked on Native issues for the Anchorage firm of Landye Bennett Blumstein LLP after getting her law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1999. She is a shareholder of Sealaska Corp. in Southeast Alaska.
