Vol. 18, No. 42 Week of October 20, 2013

State issued November 2012 leases

The state issued leases from the November 2012 North Slope and Beaufort Sea areawide lease sales in September, according to Alaska Division of Oil and Gas records.

Also in September, the Repsol E&P USA Inc. lease ADL 391014 expired. The onshore lease is located just west of Nuiqsut, among a larger block of Repsol leases in the region.

Samuel Cade forfeited three Beaufort Sea leases, ADL 392267, ADL 392268 and ADL 392269, according to the state. Daniel K. Donkel forfeited four Beaufort Sea leases, ADL 392262, ADL 392263, ADL 392264, ADL 392265, according to the state. Additionally, the state terminated three Donkel-operated leases in the Beaufort Sea — ADL 391372, ADL 391373 and ADL 391380 — for “failure to pay rent,” according to the state.

In Cook Inlet, Daniel Gilbertson transferred a 0.25 percent royalty interest in two leases at the NordAq Energy Inc.-operated Tiger Eye unit — ADL 391103 and ADL 391104 — to James and Leta Thurman. The unit is on the west side of Cook Inlet.

The Estate of Robert E. Hickel transferred small royalty interests in four North Fork unit leases — ADL 733, ADL 2095, ADL 391210 and ADL 391211 — to Betty J. Hickel.

Finally, two leases reached the end of their primary terms in September. Those were ADL 391345, a coastal lease north of the Birch Hill unit held by James A. White; and ADL 391353, an onshore lease near Nikolaevsk held by Armstrong Cook Inlet.
