Mining News: Northern Neighbors: Canada Zinc readies to drill Cardiac

Canada Zinc Metals Corp. May 12 outlined a 5,000-meter drill program that will focus primarily on its Cardiac Creek zinc-lead-silver deposit at its Akie project in northern British Columbia. Crews are to mobilize to the project early in June and drilling is expected to continue into September. A total of 126 holes (53,750 meters) have been drilled on the Akie property, 78 of which contribute to an NI 43-101-compliant resource estimate for the Cardiac Creek deposit. An additional 35 drill holes test the Cardiac Creek horizon over a 7,000-meter strike length, or other exploration targets on the property. The primary goal of the 2015 program is to expand the down-dip extents of the high-grade core to the Cardiac Creek deposit. “We strongly believe the recent upturn in the price of zinc is signaling the beginning of the long-expected dramatic decline in global zinc inventories and lack of new supply.
