Exxon puts out RFP for Point Thomson EIS

ExxonMobil Production Co. is advertising for companies to assist the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a third party contractor in developing an environmental impact statement for its proposed Point Thomson unit gas cycling project.

On April 19, EPA said an EIS was required to meet its NEPA compliance responsibilities for various reviews, permits and authorizations the project may require. In that notice EPA indicated it would be the lead agency for the EIS.

The third party contractor would collect information, prepare the documents for EPA’s review, revision and acceptance, ExxonMobil said.
