Energy bill talks to resume

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Rep. Billy Tauzin, chairman of the U.S. House-Senate energy bill conference committee, wants Sen. Frank Murkowski and other committee members to resume talks in Washington, D.C., no later than Nov. 11, Murkowski told PNA Oct. 31.

The bill still contains North Slope gas line incentives and an Arctic National Wildlife Refuge development provision, he said. The ANWR provision needs one more vote to stay in the bill.

Murkowski said not to rule ANWR out: “Amazing things happen.”
