Oil Patch Bits: ALS&S announces retirement of owner, Dick Wells
Automated Laundry Systems & Supply said owner Dick Wells founded the company in 1980 with a vision to provide complete laundry room solutions throughout the state of Alaska. As a full line distributor, representing industry-leading manufacturers and technologies, Wells accomplished that goal. He was one of the first pioneers of Alaska’s commercial and industrial laundry industry and over the past 35 years has been instrumental in delivering leading edge technology to the state, building a respectable company dedicated to its customers, vendors and employees.
Over the years ALS&S has expanded its products and services to include facility design and consultation, laundry and dry cleaning equipment, energy-saving ozone and reclamation equipment, parts, service, supplies and Cointronics, a shared revenue program. When you think about it, laundry is everywhere and the experts at ALS&S have the experience and knowledge to take laundry to the next level.
April 30 marked Dick’s retirement. He still stays busy outside the laundry business and follows his passions, volunteering as Anchorage’s Promise President, a non-profit organization with a vision that America’s youth will become successful, responsible, and caring adults, and raising money for KidsDay, Anchorage’s Promise signature annual event that brings together youth serving organizations for one day of interactive fun for the whole family. When Wells is not volunteering he enjoys fishing on the Kenai and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
