Arctic Directory October 2015: Ad campaign featuring North Slope Borough wins award
A television advertising campaign highlighting the positive cultural as well as business impacts of Arctic Slope Regional Corp. and the North Slope Borough has won an Emmy Award from the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The 52nd annual award ceremony was held June 6 in Seattle, Washington. The 30-second ads, six in total, were produced by Bradley Reid + Associates, based in Anchorage.
“I believe these are some of the most beautiful commercials to ever be produced in the state of Alaska,” said Tara Sweeney, executive vice president of external affairs for ASRC. “We are honored the campaign has been recognized and want to thank those who were featured in the commercials as well as those who helped to put the campaign together.”
The commercials were shot in various locations on the North Slope in November of 2014 and include a wide variety of scenes, from ASRC board Chairman Crawford Patkotak caribou hunting with his sons - to a welding class at Iḷisaġvik College.
“From the beginning, we knew it was a strong concept and we’re pleased it all came together,” said John Tracy, co-owner of Bradley Reid + Assoc. Tracy’s business partner, Debbie Reinwand added, “This really was a team effort - the support and trust from ASRC and the NSB was essential and made all the difference.” To view the commercials visit https://vimeo.com/112520750.
