Mining News: Northern Neighbors: Goldstrike cuts VG in first 2016 hole at Plateau

Goldstrike Resources Ltd. Aug. 16 reported abundant visible gold in the first 2016 drill hole at the Goldstack zone of its Plateau property in the Yukon Territory. The Goldstack discovery hole, drilled last year, cut 17.5 meters averaging 13.5 grams per metric ton gold. The first hole of this season, PSGS16-01, was drilled 15 meters north-northeast of the discovery hole, PSGS15-01, to further delineate the dimensions and orientation of the Goldstack zone. It intersected two mineralized zones with a combined down-hole width of 29.45 meters. The upper zone consists of 6.82 meters of mineralized stockwork from 13.13 meters and 17.05 meters of mineralized hydrothermal breccia from 19.95 meters. The lower zone consists of 5.58 meters of mineralized hydrothermal breccia from 50.12. Goldstrike said this hole contains the most abundant coarse visible gold seen in drill core to date at Plateau. Hole PSGS16-02 stepped out 20 meters southeast from the collar of Hole PSGS16-01, intersected mineralized zones of both stockwork and hydrothermal breccia that have a combined down-hole width of 20.83 meters. Once drilling at Goldstack is completed, Goldstrike plans to drill the newly discovered Bonanza zone, located 4,000 meters along trend to the northwest, where channel grab samples returned up to 436.4 g/t gold.
