Mining News: More high-grade gold found at Red Mountain

IDM Mining Ltd. Sep. 5 reported results from another 28 holes from the roughly 23,000-meter resource expansion and infill drill program at its Red Mountain gold project near Stewart, British Columbia. Highlights from the latest batch of results include 4.88 meters of 149.2 grams per metric ton gold and 59.88 g/t silver, and 6.89 meters of 26.61 g/t gold and 88.19 meter in the Marc zone. These intervals are estimated to be approximate true width of the Marc Zone. Step-out drilling down-dip from the current reserves in the AV Zone suggests this zone transitions to a wide area of disseminated gold mineralization, with higher-grade tabular structures within. The wide area, which can be traced in recent and historical drill holes for at least 200 meters along strike, has been named the Smit Zone in honor of former Red Mountain Project Manager for Lac Minerals, Hans Smit, and his son Peter Smit, who is employed by IDM as a junior mining engineer. High-grade intercepts in step-out holes located down-dip from current AV Zone reserves include: 4.04 meters of 11.54 g/t gold in hole U17-1281, and 3.25 meters of 11.58 g/t gold in U17-1290. “These results continue to demonstrate the expansion potential and the dynamic, robust nature of gold mineralization at Red Mountain,” said IDM President and CEO Rob McLeod.
