Sullivan appointed as new RCA commissioner

Gov. Dunleavy has appointed former Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan as a commissioner of the Regulatory Commission of Alaska. Sullivan’s term as commissioner runs from March 1 of this year to March 1, 2024. Sullivan will presumably replace commissioner Paul Lisankie - according to the RCA website Lisankie’s term as commissioner ends on March 1.

Sullivan was mayor of Anchorage from 2009 to 2015, and prior to that he was a member of the Anchorage Assembly. In 2014 he stood for election as lieutenant governor under Sean Parnell, but he and Parnell lost that election to Bill Walker and Byron Mallott. In 2016 Sullivan briefly considered running in the Republican primary for the US Senate.
