Arctic Directory: GCI Industrial Telecom expands engineering staff
GCI Industrial Telecom, a division of GCI, said Aug. 23 that it welcomes Phil Gerdes Jr., Scott Lefebvre, and Doug Statts to its team, providing professional telecom project engineering services including the supporting projects in the North Slope, Chukchi, Beaufort and Cook Inlet theaters of operations.
Keith Merrick, P.E., GCI’s engineering manager said, “Both Phil and Doug bring to our group excellent offshore and arctic telecom engineering experience. Scott brings us another excellent high level IT Network and VoIP Engineer. When combined with our existing engineering and project management staff, we continue to make a powerful team.”
Gerdes has more than 25 years of comprehensive Alaska telecom engineering experience with focus including offshore VSAT, Microwave Radio Systems and 2-way Radio systems.
Lefebvre has more than 10 years of VoIP and Network engineering, implementation and operations experience. He has been with GCI for 12 years in various engineering roles.
Statts has more than 20 years of similar Arctic industrial telecom experiences with specialty in 2-way design and installation, international VSAT support and stabilized shipboard satellite earth stations.
