Cavan Carlton leaves Williams

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Cavan Carlton, who has been a familiar name in Alaska as director of gas pipeline business development for Willams Cos. Inc., has left the company.

Carlton, based in Houston, had headed up Williams’ involvement in trying to build a natural gas pipeline from the North Slope to Lower 48 markets, and for a petrochemical plant that could be built at North Pole and feed off of North Slope gas if a gasline is completed.

Carlton told PNA he’s moving to Virginia, where his wife, a physician, has accepted a job. He’ll work as an energy industry consultant there.

Taking on Carlton’s role for Williams in Alaska is Michael Cathey, based in Salt Lake City. His title is director of business development for Williams Gas Pipeline.
