KNPL seeking Buccaneer interconnect

The Kenai Nikiski Pipeline is requesting a new interconnect to bring natural gas from the Buccaneer Alaska LLC owned Kenai Loop field into the transmission grid later this year.

The Marathon Oil Co. owned pipeline asked the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to approve the request in time for Buccaneer to begin making deliveries around Dec. 1.

KNPL is also making some technical changes to its tariff to reflect the change in ownership of the Kenai liquefied natural gas export terminal — Marathon recently sold its 30 percent interest to operator ConocoPhillips — and to mark the location of a proposed interconnection with the Cook Inlet Natural Gas Storage Alaska LLC.

The RCA is currently reviewing the application to make sure it is complete.
