Parnell joins Glacier board of directors

Glacier Oil & Gas Corp. appointed former Gov. Sean Parnell to its board of directors in August, according to the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing.

The Tennessee-based independent with considerable holdings in Alaska was created earlier this year through the bankruptcy proceedings of Miller Energy Resources Inc.

Glacier is the parent company of Cook Inlet Energy LLC and Savant Alaska LLC. The former operates several properties on the west side of Cook Inlet and the North Fork unit in the southern Kenai Peninsula. The latter operates the Badami unit on the North Slope.

Parnell served as lieutenant governor under Gov. Sarah Palin and succeeded her when she resigned in 2009. He was elected in 2010 but defeated in 2014 by Gov. Bill Walker.
