Kristina O’Connor, formerly spill contingency coordinator for the Alaska Division of Oil and Gas, is now at Phillips Alaska Inc. subsidiary Polar Tankers Inc. as Alaska maritime affairs consultant. O’Connor resigned from the Department of Natural Resources effective Oct. 15 after 26 years with the agency. Polar Tankers is headquartered in Long Beach, Calif.; O’Connor will be in Anchorage.
In mid-October, Phillips Alaska CEO Kevin Meyers was appointed to the University of Alaska Board of Regents by Gov. Tony Knowles. The 11-member board governs the University of Alaska system and formulates policy for the school’s campuses. It includes 10 members appointed to 8-year terms by the governor and a university student appointed to a two-tear term.
Retired Bartlett High School Coach Larry Whitmore and Lucky Shultz, most recently an internal consultant to the president and CEO of Natchiq Inc., have formed a management consulting practice, Pathways to Leadership Inc. The firm, which has offices in Anchorage and Lynnwood, Wash., focuses on helping executives achieve more from their organizations through personal and organizational development, with particular emphasis on teaching executives how to coach and develop their teams. Pathways is an authorized provider of classes licensed by The Buckley School of Public Speaking.
