Whittier targets Frio sands in Texas

Exploration and production independent Whittier Energy said it plans to drill the Schirmer 1-19, a new development gas well in the Bonnie View field in Refugio County, Texas, targeting Frio sands at 5,400 and 5,600 feet.

Whittier said April 14 it already has staked the surface location and expects to spud the well next month, adding that an independent reserve report attributed about 342 million cubic feet of proved undeveloped reserves to Whittier’s net interest in the well.

Last month Whittier acquired an additional 5 percent interest in the Bonnie View field for approximately $95,000, increasing its working interest to 71.38 percent.
