PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: Corelab, CoreMongers partner to offer locally managed facility in Anchorage

Corelab Inc. and CoreMongers recently announced that they have partnered “to offer Alaska’s only locally managed core facility.”

The facility, which will be located in Anchorage, will be managed by Clif Posey, a geologist with 10 years experience in Alaska, including several years at ARCO’s Bayview core facility.

Services offered will include locally processed porosity, permeability and saturations, as well as core handling, slabbing, plugging, preservation and digital or film high resolution photography.

“SCAL and unique heavy oil services are available through the Bakersfield, Calif. facility and the most complete evaluation suite worldwide including reservoir description, production enhancement, and reservoir management is available through the Houston, Texas facility,” the partners said in a press release.

Using the Anchorage facility, Corelab said it can provide PKS analysis with a turnaround time of only a few hours.

“CoreMongers provides the finest quality core photography available anywhere. The partnership provides a cost savings by not requiring that all personnel be sent from the Lower 48,” the companies said.
