Petroleum News
Chuck Pierce, vice president of Unocal Alaska, is being transferred to Sugar Land, Texas, as vice president of development, Unocal Indonesia. Unocal said Jan. 10 that Pierce will be succeeded in Alaska by John Zager, who is appointed general manager, Unocal Alaska.
The change is effective Feb. 1.
Pierce was appointed vice president of Unocal Alaska in 2000 and since that time, Unocal said, the company has been very active in gas exploration in the Cook Inlet area. Pierce serves on the board of the Resource Development Council for Alaska, and is president of the Alaska Oil and Gas Association and Habitat for Humanity.
In his new position, Pierce will be responsible for overseeing Unocal’s large deepwater development program in Indonesia.
Zager transferred to Unocal’s Alaska business unit in 2001 and has served as the Cook Inlet asset manager for the past two years. He has been with Unocal for 23 years, working as a geologist and manager in various business units, international development and corporate functions.
