Chinese firm makes Bohai Bay discovery

CNOOC Ltd., the Chinese offshore oil company, has made a moderate discovery in the waters of Bohai Bay, the company announced Aug. 4.

The JZ21-1S-1 well flowed at up to 700 barrels of daily equivalent in drill stem tests, the company said. The well was drilled to a total depth of 2,400 meters in 20 meters of water.
