CORRECTION - AOGCC commissioner qualifications

Petroleum News

Petroleum News misstated required qualifications for the petroleum engineer commissioner on the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in a story in the March 17 issue.

That seat requires either a certificate of registration as an engineer in Alaska and qualification as a petroleum engineer under regulations implementing the statute for registration as an engineer; or a degree from a university in the field of engineering and at least 10 years of professional subsurface experience in the oil and gas industry in drilling, well operations, production process operations, reservoir engineering or a combination thereof.

The March 17 story mistakenly listed the two qualifications as both required, rather than as options to meet the requirement.

Petroleum News apologizes for the error.
