Meet Alaska scheduled for Jan. 26 at Sheraton Anchorage

The 18th annual Meet Alaska conference, sponsored by the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, will be held Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel.

This year’s theme is “Going Where No Roads Have Gone Before.”

The 2001 conference will focus on projects that use ice road construction and pipeline transportation that minimize environmental impact. The following speakers have been confirmed: Keith Bailey, president and CEO, Williams Co.; Dr. Geoffrey Briggs, Mars Exploration project manager, National Aeronautics & Space Administration; Dodd DeCamp, senior vice president, worldwide exploration, Phillips Petroleum Co.; Edward Kelly, director of research, North America natural gas, Cambridge Energy Research Association; and Dick Olver, managing director and executive vice president, BP.

Invited, but not yet confirmed speakers include Ralph Goodale, minister of Natural Resources, Canada; Alaska’s Congressional delegation; and Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles. The following individuals have been asked to provide comments at the conference: Brian Rogers, researcher, Alaska Oil & Gas Association Economic Impact Study; Richard Campbell, president • BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.; Kevin Meyers, president, Phillips Alaska Inc.; and David Wight, president, Alyeska Pipeline Service Co.
