Eleven rigs active in Alaska

Baker Hughes reported June 14 that the U.S. active rig count was 844 (land, inland waters and offshore), down three from the previous week’s count of 847, and down 422 from a year ago, when the count stood at 1,266.

The Canadian rig count, at 178, was down two from the previous week’s count of 180 and down 142 from 320 rigs active a year ago. Including 105 rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, 1,022 rigs were working in North America, down five from 1,027 the previous week and down 564 from 1,586 rigs a year ago.

Alaska had 11 rigs active June 14, the same as the previous week, and down three from 14 rigs a year ago. Ten of the Alaska rigs were onshore and one offshore (Cook Inlet), the same as the previous week.
