Natural science lecture series set at UAA

The fall semester natural history lecture series sponsored by the University of Alaska Geology Department will be held every other Wednesday from 2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m. in Room 104 of the Beatrice McDonald Building.

The October and November lectures are:

Oct. 11, Julie Dumoulin, U.S. Geological Survey, “Lower Paleozoic rocks of northern and central Alaska: the Siberian connection;”

Oct. 25, Robert Krantz, Phillips Alaska Inc., “Petroleum systems and the Alaska North Slope: ingredients for super-giant oil fields;”

Nov. 8, Gil Mull, Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys, “Geologic evolution of the Brooks Range and Arctic slope, Northern Alaska;”

Nov. 29, Alison Till, U.S. Geological Survey, “Deep crustal movement in genesis of the Brooks Range.”
