Scientist to speak at SPE

Kurt-Martin Strack, chief scientist for Western Atlas Logging Services, will speak at the June 15 luncheon meeting of the Alaska section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers as part of its distinguished lecturer program. The 11:30 a.m. meeting will be at ARCO Alaska Inc., 700 G. St., in Anchorage.

The presentation will focus on electrical logging, which plays a key role in the locating of hydrocarbons. Strack will give a summary of basic principles underlying new tool developments and discuss case histories of through-casing resistivity logging.
