PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: Security Aviation relocates and expands its services
Anchorage-based Security Aviation Inc. has relocated as part of an expansion to include round-the-clock LifeFlight air ambulance services throughout Alaska and the Lower 48. The company will now operate from a facility at 6121 South Airpark Place on the south side of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
The LifeFlight service, a partnership with Alaska Regional Hospital, will use a Cessna 550 Citation pressurized jet. According to Security Aviation this aircraft provides particularly effective patient transportation in Alaska because of airspeeds in excess of 400 mph coupled with the ability to operate from gravel airstrips. Security Aviation owns and operates the airplane while Alaska Regional Hospital’s flight nurses and paramedics provide medical services on the flights.
“LifeFlight is the only hospital-based program in the United States to offer services directly to the emergency room doors,” Security Aviation said.
The newly remodeled facility in South Airpark Place was previously occupied by F.S. Air Service. The move to the facility gives Security Aviation more hangar space, a larger office and a larger customer lobby area, all of which can support current and future service expansions. All Security Aviation air charter operations will operate from the new facility.
“Security Aviation Inc. is the largest multi-engine on-demand air charter service in Anchorage and is in its 21st year of accident-free flying,” the company said.
