Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council President Glen Glenzer was one of the recipients of the States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force Legacy Award. The awards were presented at the annual meeting of the Task Force July 25 in Monterey, Calif. The Legacy Award was established to recognize and support exemplary oil spill prevention, preparedness, and response programs. In announcing the Legacy 2000 winners, States/B.C. Task Force Executive Director Jean Cameron said they serve as “….models for others in industry, government, and the public to emulate; we are pleased to honor their leadership and vision.”
Glenzer was recognized for his long-term commitment to the work of CIRCAC. He has represented the municipality of Anchorage on the CIRCAC board of directors since 1990 and has been president of the Board for the past two and a half years. The Task Force noted that Glenzer’s support of CIRCAC projects has resulted in a much improved oil spill prevention and response system in Cook Inlet.
The Community Impacts Planning Team of the Prince William Sound RCAC was also recognized, as was Totem Ocean Trailer Express.
