Anadarko begins Salt Creek project

by The Associated Press

Houston-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has begun work on an enhanced oil recovery project north of Casper, Wyo.

The $200 million project will involve using carbon dioxide to get more production out of the Salt Creek oilfield.

Anadarko has started replacing pipes and re-tooling wells in the area. The Salt Creek oilfield now yields about 5,500 barrels per day. The company hopes its project will boost production to 30,000 barrels a day.

Anadarko is the world's second largest independent oil and gas producer.
