ExxonMobil consolidates production operations

ExxonMobil said April 24 that it is consolidating its U.S. East and U.S. West Production organizations into a single organization to be headquartered in Houston.

The company said it expects that the majority of 300 management, professional and technical staff now assigned to the New Orleans, La., office will be offered positions within the consolidated Houston production organization or in other units of the company. Some 80 administrative and clerical staff in New Orleans will be offered a severance package based on years of service.

ExxonMobil said it continue to have a substantial presence in Louisiana, with more than 5,000 employees in onshore and offshore field operations, refining and chemical processing operations, lubricants manufacturing facility and retail stations.
