Oil Patch Bits: Bell seeks to hire civil engineer, land surveyor
F. Robert Bell and Associates, a full-service engineering and surveying firm in Anchorage, Alaska, is searching for qualified candidates to fill two positions in the Anchorage office.
Bell said it is currently seeking a licensed and experienced land surveyor to fill a supervisory role. That person would manage all aspects of the company’s surveying department including field personnel and technical staff. The successful candidate will be highly proficient with Trimble Business Center, AutoCad Civil 3D, Leica total stations and Trimble GPS. Bell is looking for someone with plus or minus 10 years of progressive experience in surveying field work, office work and project management, preferably in the Anchorage area, who can put together successful proposals and bids. The candidate should have strong written skills, with relevant experience in proposal writing and cost estimation.

Bell said it is expanding operations in Anchorage and is recruiting for a professional civil engineer to manage and be responsible for leading project planning and scheduling, construction document preparation, permitting, client communication and supervision of civil engineering project technical staff. The company said candidates should have strong electronic design skills, preferably Civil 3D, and civil engineering design skills related to site planning, grading, utility systems, stormwater management, sanitary sewer and water main design and roadway improvements. Bell said the ideal candidate will hold registration as a professional civil engineer in the state of Alaska, or be able to obtain registration within 12 months.
