Oil Patch Bits: Taiga Ventures appoints chow chairman
Taiga Ventures, has chosen Baxter, a black and white English Springer spaniel as its new chow chairman.
He will oversee daily meal choice, delivery and quality with a concentration in efficiency and presentation. He has been busy exploring vendor options with an eye toward increasing the variety, frequency and types of meals.
Taking a step away from traditional bagged and canned food, he is testing organic beef, free range chicken and ocean-caught salmon, but has yet to name a favorite, although his work compatriots have not been pleased with the all-too-aromatic salmon.
Baxter comes to Taiga with many years’ experience in the food industry and related fields. He has participated in the catch and release, before getting his nose slapped, of chickens and small game and has volunteered for copious tasting programs to refine his appreciation of flavor, texture and suitability.
Finding the right fit for the job was a long process according to Ron Norman, Taiga’s operations manager. “We looked for a long time trying to find a good fit for our organization, and there he was on the foyer couch all the time!”
Since his appointment, Baxter has strengthened relationships with customers, vendors, parcel delivery services and the mailman all of whom acknowledge his superior greeting skills and willingness to test out whatever food items they have in hand.
In addition to his meal coordination duties, Baxter will also take on the company wellness program making sure that all employees are involved in ball throwing and tug-of-war exercises throughout the day with appropriate breaks for naps.
APRIL FOOL!
