Corps extends ASAP public comment period

The Alaska District Corps of Engineers has extended the public comment period on the draft environmental impact statement for the Alaska Stand Alone Gas Pipeline Project, or ASAP, by 30 days.

The public comment period was originally set from Jan. 20 to March 5. It has been extended 30 days, and two public meetings have been added, one at Minto on March 20 and one at Wiseman on April 2.

ASAP is being developed by the Alaska Gasline Development Corp. and includes 737 miles of 24-inch diameter pipeline from the North Slope to Cook Inlet, with a lateral line to Fairbanks.

The draft EIS may be viewed online at www.asapeis.com.
