Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. said it has made a number of executive staff changes.

Robert Allison, chairman and chief executive officer of the Houston-based independent, said the changes “elevate the planning, marketing and new business development roles of the leaders who will shape our future growth and direction.”

Bill Sullivan was promoted from vice president of operations, international, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, to executive vice president, exploration and production. He will assume responsibility for exploration, development and production operations worldwide, and report to John Seitz, Anadarko president and chief operating officer.

Rex Alman, currently vice president, domestic operations, was promoted to senior vice president, domestic operations. He will report to Sullivan and continues to oversee U.S. operations.

Jim Emme, currently vice president, Canada, was named vice president, exploration and will assume responsibility for worldwide exploration efforts. He will transfer from Calgary to Houston and report to Sullivan.

Bruce Stover, vice president of acquisitions since 1993, was promoted to senior vice president, worldwide business development. He continues to direct new business initiatives and will report to Seitz.

“Bruce will continue to be engaged in evaluating and securing targeted new business initiatives — including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures — as well as other creative alliances that will further strengthen and balance our worldwide portfolio,” Allison said.

Michael D. Cochran, Ph.D., vice president, exploration, was promoted to senior vice president, strategy and planning, with responsibility for long-range strategic planning efforts. He will report to Seitz.

Richard J. Sharples, vice president, planning and marketing, was promoted to senior vice president, marketing and minerals. He retains responsibility for marketing natural gas and crude oil operations and reports to Mike Rose, chief financial officer.
