Imperial appoints new top man to Mackenzie project

After less than a year on the job, Imperial Oil’s top man on the Mackenzie Gas Project is leaving.

According to a June 22 CBC News report, Imperial Senior Vice President Michael Yeager is going back to ExxonMobil at the end of June as vice president of one of its companies.

The decision to remove Yeager is “not indicative” of his abilities, CBC quoted an Imperial Oil spokesperson as saying. Rather, the move reflects ExxonMobil’s broader business needs.

ExxonMobil hold 69 percent of Imperial’s shares.

Randy Broiles from ExxonMobil in Texas is taking Yeager’s place. Broiles worked in Canada about 10 years ago, CBC said.
