Changes at AOGCC

Some changes were made late last year at the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The governor named Bob Christenson chairman of the three-member commission, succeeding David Johnston. The Legislature changed the statutory requirements in the mid-1990s so that a chairman cannot be reappointed as head of the commission. Christenson has been a commissioner since April 1997. Johnston and Cammy Oechsli hold the other two commission seats.

Christenson has also been named to succeed Commissioner John Shively of the Department of Natural Resources as the state’s official representative to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Oechsli was appointed to replace Johnston as associate representative.
