Petroleum News Alaska

Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. reports that the trans-Alaska pipeline was down twice during August, both unscheduled shutdowns caused by remote gate valve communication failure, deferring shipment of 31,327 barrels on Aug. 16 and 14,416 barrels on Aug. 27. The August reliability factor ó the amount of time the pipeline is operating and available to transport North Slope crude oil — was 99.85 percent.
