ExxonMobil reaches agreement to sell Mobil’s European gas holdings

Exxon Mobil Corp. said April 3 that it has reached agreement to sell Mobil’s 100 percent holding in Mobil Europe Gas Inc. to Duke Energy International. The sale is subject to approval by the European Commission under the terms of the commission’s approval on Sept. 29, 1999, of the ExxonMobil merger, which was closed Nov. 30.

ExxonMobil said the parties to the sale also have filed for approval under the Hart Scott Rodino Act.

Mobil Europe Gas is a leading independent natural gas marketer operating in The Netherlands. Source of the gas is through supply contracts with ExxonMobil affiliates in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Germany.
