Tony Meyer Anadarko’s new head of Alaska operations
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. announced three executive management changes July 8, two of them related to the company’s Alaska operations.
Rex Alman, currently senior vice president, domestic operations, has been named senior vice president, Algeria, and managing director of Anadarko Algeria Co. LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of APC), replacing Tony Meyer.
Mark Pease, currently vice president, international and Alaska operations, has been named vice president, domestic operations, replacing Alman.
Tony Meyer, currently vice president, Algeria, and managing director of Anadarko Algeria Company LLC, has been named vice president, international and Alaska operations, replacing Pease. All three will report to Bill Sullivan, executive vice president, exploration and production.
“The North Slope of Alaska is a major focus of Anadarko’s frontier exploration efforts, and we’re targeting both oil and natural gas reserves. Anadarko also has one of the largest acreage positions in Alaska, with access to more than 4.8 million acres, and in partnership with Phillips Alaska, we produce 100,000 barrels of oil a day from Alpine,” Sullivan said. “Besides Alaska, Tony Meyer will oversee Anadarko’s recent expansion in the Middle East, where we have assumed operatorship of a large producing field in Qatar and have a good acreage position from which to explore. Tony will also lead exploration and development activities in several emerging international areas.”
