Camden Bay unit terminated by state

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources Division of Oil and Gas terminated the Camden Bay unit Aug. 5. ARCO Alaska Inc. relinquished its state leases effective Aug. 12.

ARCO Alaska Inc., the sole leaseholder, relinquished leases in the unit effective Aug. 12.

The Camden Bay unit was the farthest east unit on the North Slope, lying north of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the Beaufort Sea. ARCO drilled the Warthog exploration well in the unit in 1997.
