New info call for spring lease sales

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas, has issued a call for substantial new information for Cook Inlet and Alaska Peninsula areawide oil and gas sales tentatively scheduled for spring 2016.

Based on information received the division said it would either issue supplements to findings for the sale areas, or decisions of no substantial new information.

The most recent Cook Inlet areawide best interest finding was issued in 2009 and the most recent Alaska Peninsula best interest finding in 2014. The Cook Inlet finding was last supplemented in 2011.

The deadline for receipt of information is 5 p.m., Nov. 6. Findings and supplements are at http://dog.dnr.alaska.gov/Leasing/BestInterestFindings.htm.

Tract maps available

The division has released tract maps for the Nov. 18 fall sales, Beaufort Sea, North Slope and North Slope Foothills. The maps are available at http://dog.dnr.alaska.gov/Leasing/SaleDocuments.htm.

The lease sale tract maps show the location of lease sale tracts, general land ownership and general lease status. The sale announcements and complete details (instructions, estimated acreages, forms, and important lease sale dates) are available online at the same site.
