Unocal’s West Coast agricultural products group restructures Unit reorganized into wholly owned limited liability company under Prodica name; change effective Oct. 1 Petroleum News Alaska
Unocal Corp. said Sept. 24 that its West Coast Agricultural Products business group will restructure under the name Prodica LLC after the unit is reorganized into a wholly owned limited liability company. The change is effective Oct. 1.
The Agriproducts unit provides products and services to fertilizer dealers and growers throughout the western and southwestern United States, agricultural dealers and growers across Mexico and industrial chemical customers throughout North America.
Prodica will maintain its headquarters in Brea, Calif. The new company’s operations will include their primary fertilizer manufacturing plants located in Kennewick, Wash., and West Sacramento, Calif. These plants produce finished fertilizer products. Prodica will also manufacture and market industrial chemical products including nitric acid, urea, anhydrous ammonia, aqua ammonia and sulfuric acid. Unocal converting non E&P units to subsidiaries The restructuring and name change is part of Unocal’s move to convert its non-E&P operating units in the United States into subsidiary companies.
Last year, Unocal’s ammonia and urea fertilizer manufacturing facilities in Kenai were transferred to Alaska Nitrogen Products LLC, a wholly owned limited liability company.
No personnel changes will be made as a result of the Prodica name change and restructuring. Prodica representatives will continue to serve their existing customers, and the location of all company facilities will remain the same, including manufacturing plants, distribution terminals and field sales offices.
