Mining News: Zonte tests targets At McConnells Jest

Zonte Metals Inc. Oct. 6 said a late summer exploration program indicates the potential for widespread gold mineralization at McConnells Jest, an exploration project immediately west of Victoria Gold’s Dublin Gulch property in the Yukon. This program included five holes testing three targets – Hill, Two Four and Pink Mountain. Hole MJ-04, drilled at the Two Four Target, cut 20.5 meters of 0.72 grams per metric ton gold from a depth of 61.4 meters and 20.3 meters of 0.69 g/t gold from 122.2 meters. Drilling at Pink Mountain encountered anomalous gold and results from the Hill Target were generally low. Prospecting and mapping carried out this year discovered high-grade gold at the Tea zone, at the northwestern end of the property. One sample of a quart vein there returned 129 g/t gold. The field work also discovered J Zone, a target southeast of Tea where one sample returned 5.35 g/t gold. “The phase 1 drill results confirm the presence of an intrusion related gold system with the discovery at the Two Four Target,” said Zonte President and CEO Terry Christopher. “This discovery along with the identification of a high-grade 129 g/t gold vein at the Tea Zone and the discovery of gold mineralization at the J Zone confirms a widespread gold system at the McConnells Jest project. The successes to date have occurred with limited exploration and the majority of the pluton remains to be explored."
