PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: New scholarships from Rain for Rent

Rain for Rent is expanding its scholarship programs for students attending Arizona State, Louisiana Tech, Michigan State and Pennsylvania State. The universities have chapters of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.

The Bakersfield, Calif., company has awarded more than $220,000 in scholarships since 1989, aiding students pursuing careers in fluid dynamics, pumping, and trenchless technology.

Rain for Rent awarded four $1,000 scholarships in April, to college sophomores Lauren Webber from Penn State, Cory D. Street from Arizona State, Lance Garth Tyson from Louisiana Tech, and Matthew Paul Merrill from Michigan State.

Rain for Rent, the nation’s largest outlet for temporary liquids-handling equipment, specializes in bypass pumping, filtration systems, irrigation and dewatering equipment.
